Marvellously complex and full-bodied, its bouquet is both fresh and lively, with light floral notes. On the palate, the Brut Gold has a sumptuous, racy fruit character perfectly integrated with the wine’s subtle brioche accents. The Champagne’s texture is deliciously creamy, with great depth paired with a long, silky finish. Brut Gold is pressed from a perfectly balanced blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier wine and presented in a stunning gold bottle originally developed by Cattier for the Andre Courreges fashion house.

Vastly regarded as the greatest champagne in the world - Armand de Brignac, Ace Of Spades Brut Gold is was introduced in late 2006 by Sovereign Brands in partnership with Champagne Cattier of Chigny-les-Roses, near Reims, France. It is produced in a multi-vintage style (like Krug's Grande Cuvees) as opposed to the vintage prestige cuvees of some other Champagne houses.  It is presented in a stunning gold bottle originally developed by Cattier for the Andre Courreges fashion house. All labels for each bottle of Armand de Brignac are made of real pewter, polished and applied by hand.

Armand de Brignac's Champagnes are marketed as flagship cuvees in selected markets.  Like much Champagne, the Brut Gold is a blend of the grape varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, making use of only Premier Cru and Grand Cru-rated grapes from from only the finest vineyards in La Marne, including Grand Cru - rated villages like Cramant, Avize, Oger, and Choilly, and Premier Cru towns including Ludes, Rilly-la-Montagne, Villers Allerand, Taissy, Villers Marmery, and Mareuil-sur-Ay. The Cattier family has owned and cultivated land in the Champagne region’s Montagne de Reims Terroir since 1763, and coined the Armand de Brignac name in the 1950s.  The Armand de Brignac cellars are considered the deepest in the Reims Terroir.

Bottles of Armand de Brignac have appeared in several hip-hop music videos, sometimes referenced as "Ace of Spades" in song lyrics. An appearance in the Jay-Z music video of "Show Me What You Got" prior to the launch of the Armand de Brignac brand sparked wide discussion on sites covering hip-hop and popular culture, following his public fallout with the makers of Cristal. Since then, the brand has appeared in many other videos.

The brand first gained worldwide visibility in the music video for the Jay-Z song "Show Me What You Got", which debuted in late October, 2006, and featured Jay-Z being presented with the distinctive gold bottle in a silver briefcase. Jay-Z had previously featured Cristal in his videos, but had recently started to boycott this brand. Two days after the release of the video, Cattier (trading as Armand de Brignac) issued a press release identifying themselves as the brand in question. On November 5, 2014 it was announced that a new company led by Jay-Z has acquired Armand de Brignac Champagne from Sovereign Brands.
