Bumbu is an ultra-premium rum crafted from top-quality sugarcane expertly selected from eight countries throughout the West Indies. It is made in the Caribbean island of Barbados, known as the "Rum Islandï", where the spirit originated over 400 years ago. Bumbu is blended with some of the world's purest water and aged in oak barrels to create a fine rum with a taste as complex as the brand's rich history. On the nose, Bumbu offers complex aromas of soft caramel, Madagascar vanilla and toasted oak. The palate is medium bodied with notes of cinnamon, roasted nuts and allspice, leading up to a slightly sweet, smooth finish. The Rum is stylishly presented in a heavyweight glass bottle that is a work of art on its own, adorned with a tarnished metal "X" in front and map of the Caribbean across the back.

In Barbados, rum isn't just another spirit. Barbados is the original rum island, where rum was first created some 400 years ago. The Barbadian craftsmen have spent the last few centuries perfecting the art of distilling and blending the country's most famous export. Bumbu is made at a historic Barbadian distillery founded in 1893 and continuously operated for more than 120 years. At Bumbu Rum Company, rums are handcrafted from a blend of sugarcane selected from eight countries throughout the West Indies and South America. The rum is distilled using two continuous stills and aged up to 15 years in grade-A, once-used Kentucky bourbon barrels to achieve exceptional balance and smoothness, without sacrificing richness and complexity. The yeast used during fermentation is a distillery secret that dates back as far as 1840. The flagship Bumbu Rum is based on the original recipe created by 16th and 17th century sailors of the West Indies, who blended native Caribbean ingredients into their rum and called it 'Bumbu' - truly the original craft spirit. Using the same all-natural native spices and no artificial colours or flavours, Bumbu rum is an authentic revival of this piece of Caribbean history, distilled in small batches and blended by hand. The Barbados rum heritage isn't just historical - it's geological. Unlike most Caribbean islands (formed by volcanos), Barbados was created by coral reefs ensuring the ground water is purified as it's forced through natural limestone, making Barbadian water some of the finest in the world. Distillers elsewhere must filter their water before using it in their process - not so at Bumbu. This exceptionally pure water, coupled with carefully selected sugarcane from across the Caribbean and South America, lends the lightness and smoothness that's central to Bumbu's remarkable drinkability.
