Like the Brut Reserve,,the Ros Rserve must meet with numerous demands. It is the fruit of deliberate well-considered decisions.

COMPLEXITY: The 80% of wines from the harvest year are blended with one third of each variety (Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) while the 20% of reserve wines are blended in equal proportions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. All are vinified cru by cru, variety by variety, in stainless steel vats.

PRECISION: To reach perfect balance, between freshness and delicacy on the one hand and structure and complexity on the other, the Chef de Caves applies the House signature by introducing reserve wines intentionally selected younger - on average 7 or 8 years- than those in the Brut Rserve.

GENEROSITY: The 5 to 6% of great wines vinified as red naturally provide tannins and the scent of red fruits, to which the Chef de Caves will add subtlety for a full-bodied, generous wine.

INTENSITY: Matured for over three years in the unique and thousandyear-old crayres purchased by Charles Heidsieck in 1867. Part of the historical sites of the UNESCOs world heritage list, they inspired the large base and narrow neck of the new silhouette for the non-vintage wine bottles.

Charles Heidsieck is one of the great names of Champagne, and produces some of the finest of all Champagnes. Founded in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck, the original 'Champagne Charlie', the foundation of its modern fame rests on the unrivalled quality of its wines, which receive countless awards and accolades year after year. This success is attributable to the strength and depth of their winemaking team over the past three decades: Daniel Thibault, Regis Camus and Thierry Roset have between them been awarded 'Sparkling Winemaker of the Year' at the International Wine Challenge fifteen times.

No other house has won more than twice. This winning philosophy has been inherited by the new Chef de Cave, Cyril Brun, who took over in 2015 following Thierry Roset's untimely death in October 2014. In a world of large houses and luxury brands, it is reassuring that Charles Heidsieck, the smallest of all the grandes marques, is once again family owned and striving to build upon its already fabled reputation.
