This Blanc de Noirs is dominated by Pinot Noir although there is a small percentage of Chardonnay, about 13%, in the blend. Named in honour of the Regent Queen Maria Cristina, who in 1897 granted Codorníu the title of ‘Official Provider to the Spanish Royal House. Fresh, light with delicately rounded and well-balanced flavours. A small amount of the Chardonnay is barrel-fermented, before Traditional Method production with the second fermentation in bottle, then maturation for 18 to 24 months before release.

Straw yellow with golden highlights and deep violet reflections. Fine and persistent rosary bubble. The bouquet is fresh and light aromas of white flowers and fruit such as raspberry, blackcurrant and strawberry are present. The palate is full-bodied and remarkably fresh. Noble and elegant, it is creamy, delicate and with a long finish.

Country Of Origin: Spain

Codorníu is the story of a wine-producing family that dates back to the 16th century. It is the story, therefore, of a region and its progress, of the people of an area, of their creative and innovative ability, and their talent for constant improvement. In 1872, Josep Raventós Fatjó – pioneer of the cava industry – produced his first bottle of cava by applying the traditional method to a blend of classic Penedès varieties. Five centuries of history and experience make these cavas the perfect combination of tradition and modernity. Codorníu is a symbol of integrity and innovation in the world of cava and an example of caring for and respecting the land and its products, to which it dedicates the utmost attention.
