Rightly amongst the aristocracy of Australia's finest wines. A spicy, brambly/black fruit, self-indulgent fireside red, with rich ferrous and dust, chocolate and crushed rock aromas. This is all mirrored in the palate with blueberries and blackberries, a crunchy minerality and sweet spice. There is a hint of sappiness and a slightly salty finish with great length. Its slight dark chocolate bitterness finish lifts it into the top echelon of Australia’s finest Shiraz.

Located near the tiny village of Moonambel in the heart of the Pyrenees region of Western Victoria, Dalwhinnie specialises in top-drawer Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from 40+year-old vines. The 18 hectare vineyards were planted in 1976 and are now fully mature. At 595 metres above sea-level, Dalwhinnie is the highest and most remote of the Pyrenees district vineyards. This family-owned winery is renowned across the world for making exquisitely crafted wines, beautifully packaged and built to age, but don’t just take our word for it. "Dalwhinnie only knows how to make great wines,” says James Halliday, and he should know.
