The Dom Perignon 2009, presented in a special limited edition "Prism" Gift Box. Tokujin Yoshioka was invited by Dom Pérignon to create an artistic tribute to Dom Pérignon Vintage 2009. Inspired by the famous words of Dom Pérignon himself – ‘I’m drinking stars!’ –  Tokujin Yoshioka presents “Prism”, an homage to a champagne of living

The stretch of excellent weather condition of 2009 was unprecedented, and explored new frontiers of grape ripeness in Champagne. The vintage offers a taste of the ripest and richest fruit, grapes in their prime, with the promise of the future wine's freshness and energy. The 2009 vintage brings a prodigious, sunny, bold and generous decade to a close.

Notes of guava and spicy green grapefruit zest combine with stone fruit: white peach and nectarine. The wine opens up, with the whole complemented by woody vanilla and warm, lightly toasted brioche.

The fruit is majestic: ripe, fleshy and profound. Beyond the richness and a certain voluptuousness is a strong impression of consistency that prevails. The wine’s power is remarkably restrained. The various sensations – silky, salty, sappy, bitter and briny – converge and persist.

Dom Pérignon Vintage 2009 is a wine that needs to be excited. It needs a framework, it appeals to be stretched with contrasts.
The champagne reaches out to the "vegetable" and "mineral" worlds, calling out by sea urchin carbonara with cardamom mousse. It works brilliantly when it has something to chew on: octopus marinated in Sicilian orange juice and roasted in butter.

An old classic, the prestige cuvee of prestige cuvées, Dom Perignon is enjoyed from Royal tables to Michelin Star restaurants and trendy Bars, and is sometimes the only champagne that will do for special occasions.

When Father Pierre Perignon took over as cellar master at the Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers in 1668, his goal was "to make the best wine in the world". For a young monk just 30 years old, it took a visionary spirit and exceptional audacity to pursue such lofty ambitions. His name was originally registered by Eugene Mercier. He sold the brand name to Moet & Chandon, which used it as the name for its prestige cuvee, which was first released in 1937.

More than three centuries later, the brand of Dom Perignon perpetuates the visionary approach of its founder, widely considered the spiritual father of Champagne. Each new vintage is a unique creative act, reinventing the extraordinary style of a wine that only the Chef de Cave may declare a "vintage year." The grapes are never the same from one year to the next. If a harvest does not meet Dom Perignon's unyielding standards, there will be no vintage champagne that year.

The unique personality of Dom Perignon is born of this creative commitment. It is this tension between the distinctive qualities of a year and the timeless spirit that defines Dom Perignon, an unparalleled sensation that imparts weightlessness, airy richness and suppleness from first impression to the long-lasting finish. The story of Dom Perignon is of constant reinvention and each Vintage is a new beginning.
