Delicate gold colour. Penetratingly aromatic floral fragrances mixed with aromas of exotic fruit and honey on a hint of minerality. Generous, and well-structured, immensely rich in peach and apple Chardonnay flavours with a really focused complexity and seductive nuttiness. Juicy and chewy.  A cleansing mineral dry finish with long and intense aftertaste.

Country Of Origin: France

The 2 hectares of Premiers Cru vineyard “Les Chenevottes” is located next door to the famous Terroir “Le Montrachet”. The soil is mostly constituted of clay and limestone with the famous stone of Chassagne and is clearly mineral. The vineyards have a peculiar aspect.  They are constituted of small blocs entangled into each other.  With its East exposure, on the road to Saint Aubin, this plot benefits from the fresh air which conveys to the wine very pure and refreshing aromas.  The Wine is aged in oak casks for 12 months.

Chanson Père & Fils is one of the oldest of Beaune’s great négociant houses.  Though modest in size, Domaine Chanson has been hand-crafting exceptional wines for over 250 years, having been founded in 1750 and subsequently taken over by the Chanson family (already vineyard owners in Beaune, Savigny and Pernand) during the 19th century.

In 1999 the company was sold to Bollinger, and after some shrewd land purchases, Chanson's unique Domaine in the heart of Burgundy now comprises 45 hectares of vineyards, located entirely in the Côte de Beaune and exclusively in Premier and Grands Cru appellations including Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pernard-Vergelesses and Corton-Vergennes. This area provides about a quarter of the company’s production which extends to Chablis, the Mâconnais and the Beaujolais.

Président Gilles de Courcel who was appointed by Bollinger to run the business in 2002, Winemaker Jean-Pierre Confouron and their team have made considerable improvements over the years, beginning in the vineyards which are now ploughed and no longer fertilised. From 2009 the Domaine vineyards were all declared organic.

With a profound passion for Burgundy's finest appellations, the current team gracefully express the specific terroir of each parcel of land. The company has kept its old headquarters and in the purest of Burgundian tradition, ageing of wines in oak barrels takes place in Chanson's own Bastion; a late medieval stone tower which was once one of Beaune’s principal fortifications and which shelters the wines throughout the maturation process.
