A rich, powerful and sweet Guimaraens Vintage Port, a worthy successor to the tradition of Guimaraens Ports that have been made for over a century, drawing on the best produce of Fonseca's own estates in years that produce more supple and early maturing wines.

This is a very fine Guimaraens 2013 vintage blend, full bodied and packed with dense berry opulent fruit flavour which defines the Fonseca house style.

Country Of Origin: Portugal

Since the emergence of vintage port as a great classic wine in the first half of the 19th century, Fonseca has been one of its most admired and consistent producers. The release of the legendary 1840, the first vintage port to be sold under the Fonseca name, marked the start of a steady stream of magnificent vintages which continue to this day.

Over the years, Fonseca's determination to preserve and refine its distinctive house style has drawn it ever closer to the vineyard. The last three decades of the 20th century saw it invest in vineyard ownership and take a leading role in vineyard renovation in the Douro Valley. Fonseca's three estates, Panascal, Cruzeiro and Santo Antonio, with their distinctive terroirs, have a key role in defining the unmistakeable character of the firm's wines.

Guimaraens Vintage Ports are made in certain years when a classic Fonseca Vintage is not declared. They are blended from the best produce of the firm's Pinhão Valley estates, Cruzeiro and Santo António, and Fonseca's flagship property, Quinta do Panascal, on the right bank of the Távora. Approachable when young, they are an excellent choice for early drinking but have the depth and stamina to mature in bottle.
