The Experimental Series is a range of ground-breaking single malts embodying the William Grant philosophy of freedom and possibilities.

Containing: 1 X 70cl Glenfiddich XX as well as a branded XX Glass.

Project XX is an unusual single malt combined from top picks of the thousands of casks in the William Grant warehouse selected by 20 industry experts from around the world.

The final 20 chosen malts, matured in everything from port pipes to virgin bourbon barrels, have created an unusual, untraditional and unexpected whisky, exceeding every expectation.

With its deep golden hue, Project XX embodies the warm, fruity character of a classic Glenfiddich with hints of apple blossom, summer fruits and ripe pear. But its multiple personalities are revealed with hints of sweet candyfloss, cinnamon spice, almonds and rich port tannins with the odd whisper of liquorice. Deep and mellow, the finish is long lasting with a lingering sweet oakiness.

Few men have built their own distillery with their own bare hands. But that's exactly how William Grant started writing his story. For 20 years William Grant nurtured a dream to make the "best dram in the valley". In the summer of 1886, with his seven sons and two daughters by his side, William set out to fulfil a lifelong ambition. Together they began building his Distillery by hand, stone by stone. After a single year of work it was ready and William named it Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer.

William's passion, determination and pioneering spirit continues to guide the distillery today. Glenfiddich is one of the few single malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned and is now the World's Most Awarded Single Malt* Scotch Whisky, a true reflection of the William Grant's innovative nature, passed down through the generations.

Using many of the same methods for 125 years, a mixture of specially-sourced barley, ground down and added to Robbie Dhu springwater, is heated to 64 degrees C. The porridge-like "mash" turns to sugar, dissolving into a fine sweet, tangy liquid called wort. The wort is drained, cooled and passed into Wash Backs, where yeast is added and fermentation begins.

The wash is heated and condensed in copper Wash Stills for its first distillation, and a second time in Spirit Stills. Robbie Dhu spring water is added to the newly distilled spirit at 63.5% alcohol and it is then stored in the finest American oak and Spanish Oloroso oak casks in the Glenfiddich Warehouses, breathing in Highland air, waiting patiently until primed for bottling.
