Hobsons Twisted Spire is a beer with all round appeal. It's a quenching low gravity beer with a nice bitterness in flavour and refreshing bursts of hop flavour which lingers through to a crisp dry finish.

Twisted Spire is brewed with Hersbruker, Fuggles and First Gold hop varieties and Maris Otter malting barley. The vibrant blond beer appeals to the palates of both the practised ale drinker and potential lager convert.

The beer's name was inspired by the curious and rare twisted spire church of St Mary the Virgin in the heart of Cleobury Mortimer, home to Hobsons.

Bottle notes - Twisted Spire is a carbonated beer, best served at 8°C

Case of 12 x 500ml bottles.

Country Of Origin: England

Founded in 1993 by the Davis family, over the past 20 years Hobsons have grown to become a leading brewer in Shropshire and one of the most sustainable breweries in the UK. The success of the brewery and its many awards has been down to a strong culture of supporting the local region, its people and its resources.

Founder, Nick Davis, and his father, Jim, decided they would start a brewery in the late eighties when he was running a pub in Somerset. In Easter 1993, Hobsons was launched as a family business, after four months searching for premises, plant and machinery and time spent researching local tastes.

Over 80% of the hops used are grown in the nearby Teme Valley. Hobsons use the British varieties of Challenger, Progress, Fuggles and Goldings. In 2010 Hobsons embarked on an initiative to source locally grown Maris Otter malting barley, a variety recognised in the industry as being the best malting barley available to produce high quality beers with great taste. A small producers group was set up with the objective to establish a sustainable supply chain of locally grown malting barley. In 2011, 350 acres of Maris Otter Barley was planted as part of the brewery’s initiative to develop locally grown Barley, this year 900 acres has been planted.

The brewery’s vision is to become the country's leading sustainable brewery. Over the past five years, they have embraced sustainable technologies and harnessing environmental assets. Every decision made has sustainability at the core; Ground source heat pumps, GAIA Wind Turbine, Rainwater Harvesting, photovoltaic Panels with individual inverters to harvest the most energy.
