The story of Johnnie Walker begins with the man who gave his name to the brand. In 1819 most grocers stocked a line of single malts, but John wanted to create something more consistent. With a natural gift for business, John started blending them together in his grocery shop to create his own whisky that tasted just as good every time. As the business passed from father to son and then grandson, the unique blends created by the Walkers combined with their skill and flair for business enabled the brand to flourish around the world.
