The Johnnie Walker Blue Label reserves contain a small number of very precious casks from Ghost Distilleries – iconic stills that have ceased production. Master Blender Jim Beveridge has hand-selected some of the most interesting parcels from this library of liquids, skilfully marrying them together with the other rare malt and grain whiskies in the Blue Label recipe to create an extraordinary blend.

With a highly limited release worldwide, this first special edition is Brora & Rare, an 8 whisky Blue Label blend with single malt from the now silent Brora at its heart. Bottled at the higher strength of 46% abv.

Featuring rare expressions from the operational distilleries of Royal Lochnagar, Clynelish, Glenkinchie, Glenlossie and Cameronbridge, this blended Scotch is smooth with the fruity sweetness of pineapple, rich notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate, and a subtle smoky finish.

The story of Johnnie Walker begins with the man who gave his name to the brand. In 1819 most grocers stocked a line of single malts, but John wanted to create something more consistent. With a natural gift for business, John started blending them together in his grocery shop to create his own whisky that tasted just as good every time.

As the business passed from father to son and then grandson, the unique blends created by the Walkers combined with their skill and flair for business enabled the brand to flourish around the world. With the introduction of the famous square bottle to reduce breakages and the distinctive label, slanted at precisely 24 degrees, the whisky blends were able to stand out even further from the crowd. Today, Johnnie Walker is the biggest whisky brand in the world.
