From the Chateau in France owned by the Chase distillery from Herefordshire, a superb quality Provence Rose. Bone dry, the wine boasts affluent stone fruit aromas of peaches and apricots, followed by a refreshing note of grapefruit alongside a backdrop of savoury Provençal herbs. A moreish creamy texture sits in harmony with a steely minerality working towards a long, mouth-watering lingering finish. The wine is a singing tribute to Provence and the long sunny days from this very special part of the world.

The latest venture of William Chase, who owns and set up the Chase Spirit Company and sold his crisp business, Tyrrells, in 2010. Set in the picturesque village of Lourmarin in the Luberon region, beautifully situated with Provence to the south and the Southern Rhône Valley to the north west, Made from a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Rousanne.

In late 2012 William Chase (of the English Chase Vodka Brand) bought Château Constantin, located just north of Aix-en-Provence, near the quaint picturesque village of Lourmarin, which is best described in Peter Mayle’s ‘A Year In Provence’.

At Château Constantin the wine making starts in the vineyards, which extend over 40 hectares, and are covered in beautiful ‘vieille vignes’, or ‘old vines’. Planted during the 1960’s, the domaine has been producing exquisite wines from unique terroirs and an exceptional climate.

These low-yielding vines produce wines of exceptional quality, aided by the sunny climate and the cooling influence of the famous Mistral wind. Employing a similar ethos to producing his spirits in the UK, William insists on the very best production techniques, to guarantee that what is inside the bottle is truly very special.

A classic Provençal blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, grapes are handselected from the vieilles vignes with an average age of 50 years old. and harvested at night.  This preserves the freshness of the wine and a short cold-maceration for the must in contact with the skins imparts the enticing pale shade of pink.
Fermentation is carried out in cuvées of each variety to enhance expression of their own unique personalities. The Grenache is aged on the lees and stirred regularly to instil the creamy quality to the wine, while the Syrah is racked and separated from the lees to maintain freshness and build length. The subtle fragrant aromas from the Cinsault give a delicate finesse to the rosé that continues from start to finish.

Blended commences at the start of January and the three cuvées are then aged together for seven weeks before bottling at the end of February. Sealed with a Vinolock glass closure, the bottle can be ued again once the wine has been polished off.

Blend: Grenache (33%), Syrah (33%) and Cinsault (33%)
