IWSC Silver medal winner, this Syrah shows just how much potential this young winery has. This cool climate South African Syrah is a deep, rich red in the glass, reflecting the bright fruit flavours of mulberry and blueberry. Its perfume of smoky spices, pepper and woodland undertones, gives way to a well structured palate. Picked at optimal ripeness this complex fruit driven yet spicey wine is full bodied and well rounded. Sumptuous and full of flavour with a smooth, decadent and lingering dark chocolate finish.

Left to age for 12 months in second and third fill barrels it is full of opulent red berry fruits with a silky texture and lingering finish. It benefits from decanting and opens up to reveal a wine in the style of Northern Rhone.

Seven Springs Vineyard is a premium wine producer, situated on the R320 Hemel en Aarde Valley road, between the seaside town of Hermanus and the spa town of Caledon, in the picturesque Western Cape, South Africa. The vineyard nestles between Shaws Mountain to the north and the Teslaarsdal Mountain Range to the south, with Walker Bay and the Atlantic Ocean beyond these mountains. It is this oceanic influence, coupled with shale derived soils, known locally as Bokkeveld Shale, that gives these vines the potential to produce exceptional grapes from both north and south facing vineyards. Noble varieties, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and Pinot Noir, have been planted to express the full potential of each cultivar.
