According to the producer this Gin has a "magical touch". When tonic water is added and both liquids are mixed it will transform into a light pink hue! In Sharish Blue Magic delightful notes of strawberry and fresh raspberries give it a sweet, refreshing flavour. Warming notes of coriander and cinnamon develop behind the juicy fruit and there are traces of citrus and other sweet spices from the botanicals that include juniper, coriander, angelica root, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, lemon peel, strawberry and raspberry.

Sharish Gin is a Portuguese gin, produced in Monsaraz in the Alentejo region of Portugal by entrepeneur Antonio Cuco. Thanks to a "perfect storm" in life, the unemployed Cuco went from simple gin connoisseur to attempting to make a gin as a challenge from friends, to creating a brand that is exceeding all his expectations. Self-taught, he uses the botanicals that he loves, Portugese Bravo Apple Esmolfe DOP, oranges and lemons from Alentejo, Lucia-Lima, juniper and coriander seed, cinnamon, cloves and a soft touch of vanilla . All these ingredients are distilled separately in a traditional Portuguese alembic and then subjected to a final blend.

The name of the gin was inspired by the Arab name given to Monsaraz village, the Arab term "Sharish" means Xara or Jara, the typical flower in Alentejo: Esteva - the Gum Rockrose (Cistus ladanifer). A plant that still today prospers in poor, dry, acidic slate-based soil that surrounds Monsaraz. In the 8th century, the settlement fell under the dominion of Arab forces who occupied the Iberian Peninsula, becoming known as Saris or Sharish, The name Monsaraz actually originates from the Iberian transliteration of the Arabic Saris or Sharish. The Iberian words were Xarez or Xerez which then evolved to the Portuguese Xaraz and to the Spanish {Castilian) Jerez (the Spanish name for the sherry wine). The settlement that became Monsaraz, originated from “Mont Sharish” which became Monte Xaraz, a fortified hill surrounded by Gum Rockroses and one of the most beautiful places in Portugal.

The glass bottle chosen is the MAHE by Glassmakers Selective Line, the shape of the bottle fitting, perfectly, the Monsaraz silhouette chosen for the logo allowing the consumer to associate immediately the bottle and product. Nothing was left to chance in this production, everything has a reason, and the main is the passion of gin linked to socializing with friends. As they say in Alentejo, "do you good advantage."
