A rare bottling from the now discontinued, and beautifully packaged, Flora and Fauna range, now discontinued and getting very hard to find!

This is a soft and fruity single malt with beautiful freshness and touches of nuts and caramel. A smooth, easy drinking all-rounder; good balance of sweet and dry notes and a medium-long finish.

On the Nose: Light and delicate with a hint of Caf Noir biscuits.

In the mouth: A Sweet start. Some acidity. Medium bodied. Vanilla, toffee, orange, heather and honey. A medium-length, dry finish with a Chocolaty aftertaste.
Country Of Origin: Scotland
The Strathmill distillery is located in the town of Keith. Originally built as a corn mill in 1823, it was converted into a distillery then known as Glenisla-Glenlivet in 1891 during the Victorian whisky boom. W.A. Gilbey & Son acquired the building in 1895 and gave it the name Strathmill probably because parts of the old mill remained intact. The stills were increased to four in 1968. Now run by Justerini & Brooks, the make being a major constituent of J&B Rare.

Strathmill has been in production since it was founded in the late 19th century, so they know a few things about producing Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Strathmill has been almost hidden from view, sitting as it does on a bend of the Isla river, from where it takes its cooling water. The whisky it produces has some of Speysides classic characteristics, added to which youll find a chocolately, creamy note not often seen in its contemporaries. Though mainly used to add balance and body to blends, Strathmills light, sweet and nutty spirit is fortunately available to be enjoyed in its own right.
