A delightful Port gift set, these three miniature 20cl decanters are the perfect introduction to Taylors Port or a lovely gift for someone who enjoys a little taster. Contains 1 x 20cl of each of the following:

1 x Reserve 20cl

Reserve Port is blended from full bodied young red wines, then aged in oak vats where it softens and develops without losing the fresh, intense fruity character and deep ruby colour. Firm, vigorous, full-bodied palate, with powerful fruit flavours and a long finish. It has a potent nose of concentrated fruit, with blackcurrant, plum and liquorice flavours. Its luscious texture is supported by a firm structure giving the wine restrained elegance. Perfect with rich cheeses, dried fruit, and desserts made of chocolate or black fruit.

1 x LBV 20cl

Deep ruby red colour, black cherry on the nose, great vibrancy and wonderful freshness of fruit. On the palate, cassis, plums and blackberry combine harmoniously with the well-integrated and tightly knit tannins. Long elegant finish. Taylors LBV is the perfect finish to any meal. Excellent with fully flavoured cheeses, especially blue cheeses such as Stilton or Roquefort. It is also delicious with desserts made with chocolate or berry fruits.

1 x Chip Dry 20cl

Pale, straw colour. Delicate nose combining fresh fruit fragrances with the mellow aromas and hints of oak of a traditional white port. Fresh, lively palate, with good flavour and crisp, dry finish. Chip Dry White Port is a stylish and sophisticated aperitif, the perfect introduction to a relaxed meal. It is best served chilled in a large Port glass and accompanied by marinated olives or roasted almonds. Chip Dry can also be used to make a refreshing and original summer drink by mixing one part of Chip Dry white Port with two parts of chilled Tonic water in a tall glass, adding a sprig of mint or a twist of lemon.
Country Of Origin: Portugal
Probably the best known of all Port houses, the firm known today as Taylors was founded by Job Bearsley who was a general trader. It was Jobs son Peter who moved the company to Oporto in 1709 and they were the first English family to purchase property in the Douro in 1744. In 1816 Joseph Taylor joined the firm and it was soon trading under his name, 1836 saw the arrival of John Fladgate and Morgan Yeatman. Descendants of these three families have run the firm ever since, and it remains committed to staying independently owned.
